There's nothing like catching fish on a rod you built yourself. I have helped local flyfishing clubs do rod building classes, and I teach one on an ongoing basis at the local fly shop. I actually enjoy teaching the craft more than building custom rods for some customers. I like to hear stories from former students about how much they enjoy catching fish on the rod they built.

8/18/08.....So why do we work for a "living"? Interesting comparison of experiences and values that give depth to a day on the lake... thankful that we are not imprisoned by the habit of convience.....better yet to feel joy while sleeping in one's fishing vest or sharing spring footwear. Thanks.

What up?!
Nice to see you doing some "real" scandinavian fishing..
When are you coming up to the Torne vally to try your luck with our big salmon and grayling? Hope everything is well, and that you are catching and lot of springers!
Hope to hear from you soon.
Tight lines and best regards.
